To ADVOCATE for veterans where others have not, will not, or refused to by which veterans gain rightful access to services, healthcare, and benefits, and financial assistance.
To EDUCATE veterans and their families on resources, Veterans Affairs procedures and system navigation resources, and the 22 epidemic.
Many use the terms "IGY6" and "I got your six." At Longhorn Outpost we believe in having more than just your six. We are all about having your 360. What does having your 360 look like? Why is this important?
Longhorn Outpost created the mission around encompassing veterans entire needs without red tape. From personal experiences of our founder, the teams plan was to begin to assemble 360 teams across America with a end mission of having an outpost in every major city who could respond to veterans needs quickly in the community. Whether it be housing or advocacy our teams mission was to assist in reducing veteran homelessness, suicide, and mental health crisis through action.
We offer several programs that allow us to assist other veterans in need. By cutting through red tape and reducing limitations or refusals to assistance we can be a safety net for veterans when the Department of Veterans Affairs fails. So many other programs out their have strict guidelines about who they assist from being a veteran of a certain era or combat environment to medal recipients. Our only requirement is those who we serve be veterans.
We focused our mission on several categories on issues where we saw gaps in the system. The focus was to plug those gaps that no veteran be left behind or turned away. These programs include:
30,000 plus veterans are homeless, another 1,500,000 are on the verge of being homeless, and over 100,000 men and women who have been deployed are not even considered veterans. These heroes are excluded from services, healthcare assistance, and financial support. Defend 360 is about trying to change those numbers. Longhorn Outpost assists homeless veterans in the community with shelter, sleeping bags, food, hygiene products, and other items to help them in their time of need.
Our team regularly goes out into the community to assist homeless heroes. Our goal is through the use of tangible items they need to open a dialogue to get them into housing, assistance, mental health treatment, or other programs to reduce the homeless epidemic.
22 veterans a day commit suicide. This is a growing epidemic in America. Veterans separating from service struggle to find resources, assistance, jobs, purpose, and families are destroyed. Many veterans find themselves lost and without purpose. Financial struggles cause large stresses and burden.
To combat these issues Longhorn Outpost is using our programs in numerous ways to help these veterans and lift some of the burdens off of their shoulders. With reduced stress our goal is to help veterans see help exist and to also see that other options besides suicide exist.
Longhorn Outpost wanted to recognize one sensational kid that is working hard to end the 22 epidemic. Leonard is a local Tik Tok sensation that is taking the Veteran community by storm. He has been raising is voice and body to help combat Veteran suicide. He does 22 push up videos everyday and is receiving support from the Veteran community across Tik Tok. Creators in the Military space across Tik Tok have been sending Leonard t-shirts, coins, and more in support. Leonard is a inspiration. We are proud to announce Leonard is the first Longhorn Outpost 22 Ambassador. We are so proud of him and support his efforts.
